Oğuz Tuna Solaroğlu was born in the final days of 2001 in Ankara, Türkiye. He developed an early connection with stories. After completing his primary and secondary education in Kütahya, where his academic journey began, he ranked within the top 0.15% nationwide and continued his studies at Koç School, one of Türkiye’s most selective institutions.
During these years, his engagement with art—particularly literature—evolved from an interest into a mode of expression. He received multiple literary awards. One of his short stories was selected as a finalist in the Suna Kıraç Inter-High School Short Story Competition and was subsequently published in a book by the Pera Museum. At graduation, he received both the Semahat Arsel Grand Literature Award and the General Director’s Award, becoming part of a rare intersection of distinction. Throughout high school, he took active roles in numerous student clubs, serving as a founder and president in some. He was also elected Art Director of the Student Council, a position determined by a vote of the entire student body.
At Koç University, he completed a double major in Economics and Media & Visual Arts within four years, bringing analytical thinking and visual storytelling onto the same plane. During his undergraduate studies, he expanded this trajectory through international experiences at Maastricht University and Aarhus University. In academia, he worked as a research assistant on a European Research Council (ERC) project led by Seda Ertaç, as well as on projects within the Dean’s Office. At the same time, he took on active roles in corporate communications, content creation and representation. In the field of content creation, he also worked with a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant and a boutique hotel, translating visual storytelling into professional practice. He was awarded the Vehbi Koç Honor Award multiple times.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During this time, he approaches development economics by engaging its models alongside real-world dynamics, developing a perspective that brings theory into close dialogue with practice. As part of this process, he plays an active role in a consultancy project with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), working within multi-stakeholder environments to translate academic knowledge into sustainable business models.
Yet his trajectory has never been solely academic. To date, he has continuously produced independent projects across various mediums, both within and beyond institutional settings—writing, video, photography, documentary series, fiction and non-fiction. Through ongoing experimentation and production, he has sought to develop an intertextual narrative capacity and a language of his own.
He wants to become a “storyteller” when he grows up. Moving across disciplines, one thing remains constant: the desire to continuously reinvent the way he tells stories.
